Personalized Strength, Balance & Mobility Coaching
for Older Adults

Hi, I’m Ryan Crandall, BS, PTA.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with undergraduate studies in biology, psychology, and
exercise science, as well as a Physical Therapist Assistant degree.

For nearly 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping older adults become stronger, move better,
and feel more confident in their everyday lives.

Today, I provide personalized in-home and online fitness coaching for older adults who want to
stay active and independent—but may not feel comfortable going to a gym, aren’t sure what
exercises are right for them, or simply don’t know where to start.

You don’t need to be in shape to get started. You just need a place to begin.

Is This Where You Are?

Maybe you’ve noticed that things you used to do without thinking have started taking a little more effort.

Getting out of a chair.
Walking farther.
Managing stairs.
Getting in and out of the car.
Carrying groceries.
Walking on uneven ground.

Or maybe you’re simply not as confident moving around as you used to be.

You know you should exercise, but a traditional gym isn’t for you.

You may not need a harder workout. You may simply need the right place to start.

Personalized Coaching — Not Another Workout Video

There are thousands of exercise videos online.

But they don’t know you.

They don’t know how you move, what’s difficult for you, what you’re trying to get back to doing, or what you have available at home.

That’s where personalized coaching is different.

I’ll watch how you move, learn what’s important to you, and help you build a starting program around your abilities, your goals, and your everyday life.

We’ll Focus On:

STRENGTH
Build the strength you need to get up, sit down, walk, climb stairs, carry things, and move through your day with greater ease.

BALANCE & CONFIDENCE
Improve your ability to control your body while stepping, turning, reaching, changing direction, and navigating the challenges you encounter every day.

MOBILITY
Improve your ability to move comfortably through the positions and directions you need for walking, reaching, bending, turning, getting up and down, and everyday activities.

EVERYDAY MOVEMENT
Connect your exercise to the things you actually want and need to do—not just to getting better at exercise.
The goal isn’t to become better at exercising. It’s to become better at living your life.

Your Home Is Where It Matters

You don’t need a gym membership or expensive equipment.

We’ll use what you already have—a sturdy chair, countertop, stairs, resistance bands, weights, or simply your own body weight.

And there’s another advantage to working in your home:

I get to see how you move in the environment where you actually live.
Your chair.
Your stairs.
Your hallway.
Your kitchen.

These are the places where your strength, balance, and confidence matter most—and where maintaining your independence really happens.

We’re Working Toward More Than Exercise

Maybe you want to:

Get out of your chair more easily.
Walk around your neighborhood again.
Feel more confident on the stairs.
Carry your groceries.
Get back to activities you’ve been avoiding.
Keep doing the things you enjoy.

Or simply stay strong enough to remain independent in your own home.

Exercise is the tool. Your independence is the goal.

What Clients and Healthcare Professionals Are Saying

"I had broken my hip and it dislocated 3 times. I had 5 surgeries and was out of commission for 2 years.
I did P.T. and was discharged but I had a long way to go.
I called Ryan and it was the best decision I ever made. When I first met Ryan, I was in a dark place
physically and psychologically. I felt like I would never get better and had lost hope of living a normal lifestyle.
From day one, Ryan came in with a such a positive outlook...read more...

As a Physical Therapist who works in the East Mountains, I have found Mobile Senior Fitness to be a fantastic adjunct to the care provided in therapy. I have referred several patients to Ryan Crandall over the last few years, and without failure, each of them that has worked with him has found the services he provides to be very beneficial. Ryan has provided a way for them to continue to improve their strength, balance, and endurance while working in the security of their own home environment after outpatient therapy is no longer needed. There have even been times when we work with clients concurrently...read more...

Important:
Mobile Senior Fitness provides fitness-based strength, balance, and mobility coaching for older adults. Coaching is educational and fitness-focused and is not physical therapy, occupational therapy, or medical treatment.

Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program if you have questions about whether exercise is appropriate for you.

During in-home coaching sessions, I serve exclusively as a personal trainer and movement coach. If I believe your needs would be better addressed by a physical therapist or another healthcare professional, I'll recommend the appropriate referral.
