ABOUT

STAY STRONG.
STAY INDEPENDENT.
STAY IN YOUR HOME.

Welcome — I'm Ryan and I've been Helping

Older Adults Stay Active & Independent for

Nearly 30 Years

For nearly three decades, I've had the privilege of helping older adults

become stronger, move better, and feel more confident in their everyday lives.

My background includes a Bachelor of Science degree with studies in biology, exercise science, and psychology, followed by my Physical Therapist Assistant degree.

Over the years, I've worked with hundreds of older adults, and I've learned something important:

It isn't really about exercise for the sake of exercise.

It's about being able to do the things that make life enjoyable.

It's about walking through the neighborhood.

Getting up from your favorite chair.

Carrying groceries into the house.

Playing with your grandchildren.

Traveling.

Gardening.

Or simply feeling confident moving around your own home.

That's freedom—the ability to continue living life on your own terms.

That's what all of those things represent.

Those everyday moments matter.

As we get older, it's normal for some activities to become more challenging.

Maybe you don't feel quite as steady as you once did.

Maybe getting up from a chair takes more effort.

Maybe getting down to—or up from—the floor feels intimidating.

Maybe you've started avoiding certain activities because you don't feel as confident.

Or maybe you've always wanted to do something new but aren't sure your body will allow you to do it anymore.

Wherever you're starting, my goal is simple:

To help you build the strength, balance, mobility, and confidence needed to continue living the life you want to live.

That's where I come in.

My approach is simple: I listen first, learn what's important to you, and build a plan around your goals—not mine.

No cookie-cutter workouts.
No trying to keep up with a class.
No judgment.

Just personalized, one-on-one coaching focused on helping you feel stronger, move with more confidence, and continue doing the things you enjoy.

And because this happens in your home, we can focus on the movements that actually matter in your everyday life.

A Different Kind of Coaching Experience

When you invite someone into your home, trust matters.

When you work with me, you'll get more than just exercises.

You'll get someone who shows up on time, communicates clearly and openly, listens to what's important

to you, and genuinely cares about helping you succeed.

After nearly three decades of working with older adults, I've learned that everyone has a different story, different goals, and different challenges. You deserve to be treated as an individual—not handed a generic workout plan.

My job is to meet you where you are, help you make steady progress, and make the process practical, encouraging, and even enjoyable.

And yes, we'll probably share a few laughs along the way. 😄

Because getting stronger doesn't have to feel intimidating. It should feel supportive, rewarding, and something you actually look forward to.

As a physical therapist who works in the East Mountains, I have found Mobile Senior Fitness to be a fantastic adjunct to the care provided in therapy. I have referred several patients to Ryan Crandall over the last few years, and without failure, each of them that has worked with him has found the services he provides to be very beneficial.  Ryan has provided a way for them to continue to improve their strength, balance, and endurance while working in the security of their own home environment after outpatient therapy is no longer needed. There have even been times when we work with clients concurrently...read more...

Getting Started

Step 1: Let's Talk

Call (505) 750-1857 or complete the contact form.

We'll talk about your goals, answer your questions, and discuss what you're hoping to accomplish.

If it sounds like in-home coaching may be a good fit, we'll talk about the next step together.

If We're a Good Fit...

Every new client begins with a personalized 90-minute in-home consultation.

During our time together, I'll learn about your health history, daily routines, goals, and any concerns you have related to strength, balance, walking, or everyday movement.

I'll observe how you move during everyday activities, including walking, standing up from a chair, balancing, changing directions, and other movements that are important for maintaining independence. As we go, we'll discuss what I'm seeing, answer your questions, and talk about practical ways you can begin improving right away.

Before I leave, you'll receive personalized recommendations, practical guidance, and a clear plan for moving forward.

Some individuals find that this consultation provides all the guidance they need to begin making meaningful improvements on their own. Others choose to continue with one-on-one coaching for additional support, accountability, and progression.

Initial In-Home Consultation
Approximately 90 Minutes • $149

If we both feel ongoing coaching is the right fit—and I have availability (space is limited)—we'll discuss coaching options before your consultation concludes.

Important:

Mobile Senior Fitness provides fitness-based strength, balance, and mobility coaching for older adults. Coaching is educational and fitness-focused and is not physical therapy, occupational therapy, or medical treatment.

Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program if you have questions about whether exercise is appropriate for you.

During in-home coaching sessions, I serve exclusively as a personal trainer and movement coach. If I believe your needs would be better addressed by a physical therapist or another healthcare professional, I'll recommend the appropriate referral.
